LASER HAIR REMOVAL

Laser Hair Removal vs. Electrolysis Hair Removal: Which is Right for You?

If you are  considering hair removal methods, you have probably come across both laser hair removal and electrolysis hair removal. But how do you know which one is right for you?

Laser hair removal uses a concentrated beam of light to target the melanin in the hair shaft. The light destroys the hair follicle, which prevents future hair growth. The main advantage of laser hair removal is that it can treat large areas quickly. However, it is not effective on gray, white, or very light blonde hair because there is not enough melanin to absorb the light. Also, laser hair removal can sometimes cause skin irritation.

Electrolysis hair removal  uses a needle that emits a low-level electrical current to destroy the growth center of the hair follicle. This method can be used on any type of hair color and skin tone, making it a good choice for people who are not candidates for laser hair removal. However, because each follicle is treated individually, electrolysis can be a time-consuming process—especially if you have a large area that you want to treat. In addition, electrolysis can sometimes cause skin irritation and redness.

At Prestige Laser Center, we offer both laser hair removal and electrolysis hair removal treatments. Our experienced technicians can help you decide which treatment is right for you, based on your skin type, hair color, and desired results. Contact us today to schedule a free consultation!
